Today I read that Ernest has passed away. This makes me sad, because I knew him. In 1966-1967, he sat next to me in class at a railway repair workshop in Wittenberge. I was assigned to help him with his German. Later, I met him again in Dresden. He was studying at the transport university and I was at the engineering school.
